In a school one will often find an elderly person assisting students with their reading or in other academic areas. Schools have found that these seasoned veterans are excellent working with those who require additional assistance as the students consider them grandparents and treat them accordingly. The seniors have found this keeps their minds active and are happy to help others. Much to the surprise of younger people, many of these people, widows or widowers, are now remarrying. Many had happy years with their deceased spouse and now have found someone new to enjoy sharing social activities with. Looking at the public records shows some of these people are even in their late 80's or early 90's. |
